Tomorrow is the grand opening of Kid Stuff: Great Toys From our Childhood at the Orange County Regional History Center in downtown Orlando.

From Hot Wheels to Slinky, from Barbie to G.I. Joe, from Nerf to Mr. Potato Head (and the not so popular Mr. Carrot Head and Mr. Eggplant Head), you can revisit all the great toys that have lasted through the years at this cool exhibit.

As you go through the show, the bigger kids can remember how their favorite toys used to look (and smell in some cases), the younger kids will have fun seeing how the toys they play with today, such as board games and Viewmasters, used to look and read about how they were invented. Many of the toys are available for a hands-on demonstration

A companion to the show is Video Stuff: Electronic Gaming Through the Years. Here you’ll get to see and play old arcade and home video games. You’ll find out the history of electronic games from Pinball and Pong to Xbox 360 and Wii.

On Saturday, Jan. 26, come by and help them try to break the world record for most people yo-yo-ing at one time. They’re hoping for 2,000. Registration is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The event begins promptly at 2:45 p.m.

The Fun Stuff exhibit runs through April 13. The History Center is located at 65 East Central Boulevard in Downtown Orlando. www.thehistorycenter.org
