Bok Tower Gardens to have complimentary admission offers this May

To celebrate National Public Gardens Day, Mother’s Day, Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day, Bok Tower Gardens is offering complimentary admission days in May.

National Public Gardens Day, which is observed on May 12, promotes awareness of botanic gardens, zoos, arboreta, historic gardens, and any of North America’s Public Gardens. To receive complimentary admission to Bok Tower Gardens on this day, download the voucher here. Each guest in the visiting party will need a voucher to enter.

On Mother’s Day, which is on May 14, all mothers will receive free admission to the Gardens. Guests can give the living bouquets of landscaped gardens, created by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., to their mothers with this offer. The Tower & Garden Gift Shop will be offering a special gift for all moms who visit the gardens, and The Blue Palmetto Café will also be open to guests during the day.

Armed Forces Day, which is celebrated on May 20, will be celebrated with an offer of free admission to the men and women who serve our country. All active duty service members and veterans with valid I.D. will receive free admission to the gardens. There will also be special concerts featuring patriotic music at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

For Memorial Day, which is held on May 29, the celebrations continue with a special musical performance for our nation’s veterans and armed forces. Active duty members and veterans will receive free admission to the Gardens with a valid photo I.D. Special patriotic concerts will also be held that afternoon, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

All complimentary admission during these days do not include Pinewood Estate tours. However, from now until May 14, guests can tour the estate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. From May 15 through Oct. 28, the estate can be toured from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets to the Pinewood Estate are $6 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. Guests can purchase these tickets at the Visitor Center or the Box Tower Gardens Entry Gate.
