Disneyland Resort has just announced dates for the return of four nighttime shows, plus a new 50th Anniversary grand finale to the “Main Street Electrical Parade.”
As part of a phased reopening, “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular and the beloved “Main Street Electrical Parade” will each return to the Disneyland Park on April 22, 2022.
“World of Color” will make its grand comeback at Disney California Adventure Park on April 22, as well.
Evening spectacular “Fantasmic!” will begin performances again in the Disneyland Park on May 28, 2022.
“’Main Street Electrical Parade” debuted in 1972, and has been a major feature of a day in the park ever since. Now, it will return to enchant “a new generation of dreamers.”
As the parade celebrates its 50th anniversary, Disney Live Entertainment will debut a brand-new grand finale float that celebrates the theme of “togetherness.”
The float draws inspiration from the parade’s original classic design, and the iconic art of Imagineer and Disney Legend Mary Blair, whose child-like style is best known from the “it’s a small world” attraction.
The 118-foot-long float consists of seven segments featuring characters and settings from Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films. Thousands of lights and an electro-synthe-magnetic musical sound bring the floats to life.
Films represented in the float are “Encanto,” “The Jungle Book,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” “Aladdin,” “Coco,” “Mulan,” “Brave,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and more, and the view from each side of the parade route will be different.
Fireworks spectacular “Disneyland Forever” will once again light up the sky with its sparkling pyrotechnics and immersive projections.
“World of Color” became a hit nighttime show with its powerful fountains that created immense water screens. Music, fire, fog, and laser effects added to the show’s drama, immersing guests in favorite Disney and Pixar stories.
The battle between the forces of good and evil plays out again as “Fantasmic!” returns, along with the highlight scene featuring a 45-foot-tall, fire-breathing Maleficent dragon.
While “World of Color” and “Fantasmic!” will return to their regularly scheduled performances, “Main Street Electrical Parade” and “Disneyland Forever” will only be available for a limited time.
