Busch Gardens announces DarKoaster as world’s first all-indoor straddle coaster

DarKoaster, the world’s first all-indoor straddle coaster, will open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2023 as the park’s tenth coaster and a family-friendly addition to it’s thrill-ride collection.

Housed in the iconic Curse of DarKastle building, DarKoaster will pay homage to the previous ride with subtle nods for loyal park fans; however, the storyline tells a new tale of King Ludwig’s abandoned fortress that resurfaces as strange weather patterns appear, requiring riders to embark on snowmobiles for an expedition to investigate the mysterious phenomenon, but little do they know they’ll be evading more than the storm.

“DarKoaster will be an exciting and unique addition to our world class lineup of coasters,” said Busch Gardens Williamsburg Park President Kevin Lembke. “As an indoor attraction, DarKoaster complements our collection of thrill rides and offers a new experience to enjoy throughout the year. Plus, with only a 48-inch height requirement, DarKoaster is a ride for the whole family to conquer together.”

Busch Gardens’ newest family thrill is a steel coaster design manufactured by Intamin Worldwide, with four launches and a total of 2,454 feet of track.

Busch Gardens is also launching another incredible year for the best value annual theme park pass in Virginia with rewards and benefits ranging from unlimited admission, free parking, free guest tickets, in-park discounts, and exclusive Member events. Plus, Busch Gardens Members will be among the first to ride DarKoaster in 2023.

Membership plans are as low as $12.25 per month (plus tax) with no down payment required. Click here for details.
