Busch Gardens celebrates its 50th with Summer Nights
You can join the party every night this summer at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay as the park celebrates 50 years of fun. “Summer Nights” offers extended hours, special entertainment and festive food and drink every night, through Aug. 16.
An infectious dance designed expressly for park guests will amp up the energy every night, and DJs will spin party songs all night long from four different spots throughout the park.
Darren Romeo, the voice of magic presented by Siegfried and Roy, has returned to Busch Gardens with his mix of magic and music in the Moroccan Palace. Jeff Civillico presents his of comedy, juggling, balancing, athleticism and audience participation in Marrakesh Theater.
On June 6, park guests enjoyed music from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s performed by the original artists in Gwazi Park, capped by a fireworks display to kick off Summer Nights. On July 3, David Cassidy will be in concert, and Independence Day will feature Starship starring Mickey Thomas, followed by fireworks.
There’s also a new exhibit that honors Busch Gardens 50th birthday. Hundreds of items, including photos, souvenirs and artifacts from the park, are on display. A 70-foot timeline features photos dating from the park’s beginnings as a bird gardens and brewery tour to its present status as a world-renowned adventure park. The exhibit is located between the Crown Colony House Restaurant and the Clydesdale Hamlet. It is open during regular park hours and is included in park admission.
Park hours for Summer Nights are extended until 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
