California wildfires prompted several major attractions to close as a safety measure.

Six Flags Magic Mountain

Six Flags Magic Mountain will be closed on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025. Its operating calendar currently shows the park open on Saturday, Jan. 25. The park was not scheduled to open on Thursday, Jan. 23 regardless, as the park operates on a limited daily schedule.

Earlier this month, Six Flags Magic Mountain was closed on Jan. 8, and reopened on Jan. 9.

Universal Studios Hollywood

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Universal Studios Hollywood reopened on Jan. 10, 2025. The park shared the following statement:

Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk will be open on Friday, Jan. 10 and will resume regular operating hours.

We extend our heartfelt sympathies to those impacted by the recent and ongoing fires, and well as our deepest appreciation to the first responders for their valiant and ongoing efforts during this difficult time.

Universal was closed on Jan. 8 & 9, 2025, issuing the following statements on those dates.

Jan. 8:

Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk will be closed today as a result of the extreme winds and fire conditions. We will continue to assess the situation and expect to open for business tomorrow. The safety of our team members and our guests is our top priority.

Jan. 9:

Out of an abundance of caution, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 9 as a result of the extreme winds and fire conditions. As always, the safety of our team members and our guests is our top priority. We continue to assess the situation and are directing guests to visit our website for updates.

The closure pertained to all aspects of Universal Studios Hollywood, including its extensive Studio Tram Tour and its theme park areas such as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood was closed from Jan. 8-14, 2025. Warner Bros. shared the following statement:

Our thoughts continue to be with our communities and those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires. We are closely monitoring the situation and have decided to remain closed through Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025. The safety of our guests and team members is our top priority. We will provide updates via our website and social media.
