Cedar Point’s newest coaster, Steel Vengeance, will make its debut in Spring 2018.

Cedar Point’s FrontierTown is getting a major update when Steel Vengeance comes to town in the spring of 2018. This new coaster will be the tallest, fastest and longest hybrid roller coaster in the world.

Standing over 200 feet tall, this coaster design is made of a steel track built on a colossal wooden structure that gives a smooth and comfortable ride experience while allowing the coaster’s trains to maneuver on a wooden roller coaster in ways like never before.

Riders on Steel Vengeance will board one of three trains as they climb 205 feet in the air above FrontierTown. Once they hit the crest of the first drop, riders will be forced down a 90-degree drop and 200-foot fall to the ground below. The coaster also has multiple airtime hills, including the world’s fastest airtime hill ever created on a hybrid coaster, as well as a 166-foot-tall outer-banked hill that puts riders on an outward tilt.

Steel Vengeance will also mark the debut of the “Twisted Snake Dive.” The first of its kind, this coaster maneuver will start with a half-barrel roll, hang upside down for a moment, and then turn back into the direction of movement, not completing the full roll.

Laid out in a figure-eight design, Steel Vengeance will last approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds per ride.

“This is another roller coaster that only Cedar Point could build – tallest, fastest and longest of its kind with four inversions and the exciting movements the hybrid design can achieve,” said Jason McClure, Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point. “There are so many unexpected moments on Steel Vengeance, it’s just plain twisted. It’ll be an extremely wild experience for our guests.”

Guests won’t have to wait until Spring 2018 to experience Steel Vengeance, though, as Planet Coaster, a Steam-based PC game where players can build theme parks, has just added a free update to their game which includes a fully-customizable Steel Vengeance coaster and ride track.
