Celebrate World Puppetry Day by making your own CLOD from ‘Earth to Ned’

March 21, 2021, is World Puppetry Day — a celebration of puppetry as a global art form — and to mark the occasion, budding puppeteers and puppet builders can create their very own CLOD puppet based on the most recent hit show from Jim Henson Company, “Earth to Ned” currently streaming exclusively on Disney+.

Nowhere in the world is the art of puppetry celebrated more than at The Jim Henson Company, which has continued to be recognized as an innovator in puppetry, animatronics, and digital animation for more than 60 years, from the iconic and beloved “Sesame Street” Muppets to the characters in its most recent television credits like the new critically-acclaimed series “Earth to Ned” and the Emmy Award-winning Netflix Original series “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.”

Puppetry enthusiasts can celebrate World Puppetry Day by streaming their favorite Jim Henson Company titles like “Muppet Treasure Island,” and “Dinosaurs” on Disney+, “Pajanimals” and “The Storyteller” on Amazon Prime, “Word Party” and “Sid the Science Kid” on Netflix, and “Fraggle Rock” and “Fraggle Rock: Rock On!” on Apple TV+.

In addition, fans can build their own CLOD puppet through an online DIY Activity from the award-winning Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The CLODs (Cloned Living Organisms of Destruction) can be seen on “Earth to Ned.” In the series, alien talk show host Ned and his sidekick Lieutenant Cornelius fall in love with human pop culture, so Ned decides to interview celebrities like Rachel Bilson, Rachel Bloom, Bindi and Robert Irwin, Jenny Slate, Jason Ritter, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Mayim Bialik from a secret location on his ship.
