Characters in Flight balloon at Downtown Disney back in business

The Characters In Flight helium balloon ride at Downtown Disney is back flying with a new design featuring different flying Disney characters.

The balloon was taken down for inspection following a non-lethal accident in late June involving a similar balloon in Hong Kong. Aerophile, the company that runs the Disney World and Hong Kong ride, said the balloon was already scheduled to be replaced this November, so they decided to expedite replacement.

The new balloon features a red, yellow and blue color scheme and showcases Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo, Jasmine and Aladdin.

The ride is now open from 8:30 a.m. to midnight every day, weather permitting. Pricing is $18 for adults and $12 for children ages 4 to 10. Kids under 3 are free. They also offer an early bird special of $10 per person before 10:30 a.m.
