Chief Magic Official (CMO) Competition Day 1

Here is a complete photo gallery from the “loudest crowd” competition on Main Street USA at the Magic Kingdom today.

David, Tripp, and Justin each competed on Main Street USA today sporting CMO shirts with extra-large Cast Member name tags.

Each CMO candidate was positioned in a different spot on Main Street. Tripp was closest to the castle, David was in the middle near Center Street, and Justin was near Town Square.Prior to the competition, each candidate created signs and received props to help garner the crowd’s support.

For around 15 minutes, the candidates traversed Main Street in an attempt to recruit park guests to support them in their section.Tripp had whistles and beach balls.

David had hula hoops and pom-poms.

Justin had drums (a wise choice) and streamers.

Once the competition began, a Disney host with a microphone visited each CMO candidate and had them do whatever they could to have their section of park guests make the most noise. They were rated by a decibel meter.

Ultimately, Justin’s drum section and large crowd won the competition, edging out Tripp and David who each decided to have their crowds shout variations of “Mickey Mouse”.

While the competition on Main Street ultimately has no direct impact on the voting, the videos will surely give voters visiting DreamCMO.com a chance to get to know each candidate a lot better.

I’ll have a video of today’s competitions online within a couple of hours and will be heading to Epcot and Animal Kingdom tomorrow to capture the events there as well!

Again, here’s a full photo gallery from today.
