Contemporary Christian music fans will have a lot of choices to make this weekend as Universal Studios presents Rock the Universe 2008 and Disney’s Hollywood Studios holds Night of Joy 2008. Rock The Universe
Universal Studios will combine theme park excitement with some of today’s hottest Christian music for Rock the Universe 2008 from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Sept. 6.
The event features live performances by chart-toppers such as Switchfoot, Third Day, Relient K, Jeremy Camp and Skillet. Celebrity guest speakers include former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch and TNA wrestling superstar AJ Styles.
Single-night event tickets start at $42.99 in advance and $49.99 for day-of tickets. Advance two-night tickets start at $69.99 and day-of-event tickets are $75.99. Night of Joy
Night of Joy at Walt Disney World Resort will feature a 16-act lineup Friday, Sept. 5 and Saturday, Sept. 6 that includes Gospel Music Association Dove Awards winners such as 2008 Artist of the Year tobyMac, Male Vocalist of the Year Chris Tomlin, Group of the Year Casting Crowns and New Artist of the Year Brandon Heath plusenduringly popular MercyMe and Rebecca St. James.
Now in its 26th year, Night of Joy is moving to a new venue, Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests attending Night of Joy, which takes place from 7:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., can combine an evening of rockin’ Christian music with the theme park thrills and chills.
Concerts will take place at three stage locations, with eight national recording acts performing each evening. One-night tickets purchased in advance are $44.95 (a $5 per ticket savings compared to tickets purchased on event days – if available).
