Cirque Italia provides breath-taking performances at MOSI through Dec. 2

Cirque Italia ACT XII is a European style circus show that is currently taking place each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 2, 2012. The show takes place at MOSI, the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa in a larger-than-life blue and white circus tent.

The big top tent holds 1,266 seats, a state-of-the-art stage and more. Cirque Italia features more than 20 performers in 12 different acts that include aerialists, a balancing act and contortionists. While similar to a Cirque du Soleil show in some ways, it is different in many ways as well.

The acts all perform on an elevated, moveable stage that is surrounded by water and colorful dancing fountains and waterfalls. The acts are interactive and come from all over the world, from Rome to Mongolia, they draw the audience into the performance and have acts that travel throughout the big top.

Speaking of differences, Cirque Italia is also priced at an affordable cost. Attendees can get a front row seat for as little as $40 which is very well priced considering similar show tickets go for over $100. Cirque Italia’s goal is to make it an affordable yet quality experience so more families see the show.

This is the first time Cirque Italia has performed in Tampa. The circus has been to Venice, and plans to travel to other cities throughout the U.S next year. Tickets start at only $10 and can be purchased by visiting MOSI.org or CirqueItalia.com.
