Swing 160 feet over the sea on MSC cruise ship’s Cliffhanger ride
Cliffhanger, a swing ride, will sway passengers 160 feet above the ocean when the new MSC World America cruise ship launches in 2025.
New Cruise Ship Swing Ride
On Cliffhanger, two riders will sit side by side, much as they would if enjoying a leisurely afternoon swing on their front porch … if their front porch happened to be over the open ocean.
Though smooth and slow without the wild motion of a traditional thrill ride, Cliffhanger will undoubtedly qualify as a daredevil experience based on its premise alone.
MSC World America Sails in 2025
The MSC World America, a new ship from MSC Cruises, will set sail from Miami, Fla. in April 2025 for seven-night voyages to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Among the stops will be Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the cruise line’s private island.
The new ship will boast 22 decks, 2,614 staterooms, 13 restaurants, 20 bars and lounges, six pools, 14 hot tubs, three entertainment venues, a water park, kids clubs, and more.
As part of MSC Cruises’ commitment to emit zero greenhouse gases by 2050, the MSC World America will run on low-emissions fuel, switch off its engine while in port, and recycle waste onboard.
Additional MSC ships will debut in 2026 and 2027, bringing the fleet’s total to 25 vessels globally.

Robotron on the MSC Seascape
Cliffhanger follows in the footsteps of Robotron, a thrill ride onboard the MSC Seascape that utilizes the Kuka robotics technology from Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Universal parks.
