The world’s first fully-branded Columbia Pictures movie theme park, Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, will open on Oct. 11, 2022, in Thailand.
Located two hours from Bangkok in the Bangsaray area, Columbia Pictures Aquaverse will feature characters from some of Columbia’s most popular movies, including “Ghostbusters,” “Jumanji,” “Bad Boys,” “Zombieland,” “The Emoji Movie,” “Surfs Up,” and “Hotel Transylvania,” with new attractions joining the lineup in the future.
“Alongside our unique rides and attractions, we look forward to forging new partnerships with top accommodation, technology, retail, and Food & Beverage partners as we curate an unmatched lifestyle experience that will resonate with all our visitors,” said Liakat Dhanji, CEO and chairman of Thailand-based attractions developer Amazon Falls Co. Ltd., owners and operators of Columbia Pictures’ Aquaverse.
The park’s themed zones will offer water and land-based attractions, live shows, immersive entertainment, interactive props, unique sets, themed restaurants, and specialty merchandise and retail locations.
In addition, the Mega Wave Pool will host music events, movie screenings, and live shows on a massive stage featuring three giant LED screens and concert-grade Dolby DTS surround sound, transporting guests into the worlds of their favorite films.
“We are creating opportunities for all audiences around the world to immerse themselves deeper into our stories through water parks, touring exhibitions, and theme park attractions,” said Sony Pictures Entertainment EVP of Global Partnerships and Brand Management and Head of Location Based Entertainment Jeffrey Godsick. “Columbia Pictures’ Aquaverse is the next step in Sony Pictures’ larger global strategy to grow and expand location-based entertainment by utilizing its globally-known film and TV brands.”
The Columbia Pictures Aquaverse themed zones include:
The Jumanji Zone, including Viper, a high-speed raft that catapults riders “into the game;” Jungle Stampede, an exciting mix of total darkness and open-air rafting, and the 17-meter-high Jaguar Mountain (opening in 2023).

The Ghostbusters Zone featuring Proton Stream, the world’s first and only fully-enclosed (and Stay Puft-themed) 23-meter-tall water dome ride, and Slimer Speed Racer, the world’s first two-person Ecto-1 tube-car ride
