Country Cascades Waterpark Resort has broken ground on its $30 million expansion

Country Cascades Waterpark Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. has begun a major expansion project that will add new River Tower guest rooms, a grand lobby, new dining options, and more activities and entertainment.

A seven-story River Tower will be added to the resort’s existing Country Tower and Summit Tower buildings for an additional 91 rooms, each with a mountain theme reflective of its Smoky Mountain setting, plus all the modern comforts.

Keeping families in mind, rustic-yet-refined rooms accommodate up to six guests, and each features a dedicated “kids’ space.” Children can take part in an in-room scavenger hunt by searching for clues that will crack a secret code. Discover the code and open an in-room treasure chest.

A new grand lobby will act as the welcoming point for all visitors, with its soaring natural stone hearth, wooden beams, modern mountain design, and room for families to gather.

The rest of the resort will also be reimagined, giving the outdoor water park a fresh look and adding a family entertainment center with mini-bowling, rock climbing, a VR Arena, arcade games, and prizes.

Additional entertainment comes in the form of nightly pajama dance parties, story times, and arts and crafts activities.

Dining at the resort has been reinvigorated, too. Lighter options will be added to Country Cascades’ signature breakfast, and a variety of hot options will be offered at the resort’s new grab-n-go market.

Two new fast-casual outlets and a confectionary kitchen will also be part of the expansion.

“This $30 million dollar project brings together all of the elements of a memory-filled vacation, whether it is the thrill of rock climbing, excitement of a pajama dance party, or the delight of sharing ice cream together,” said Kay Collier-Pittman, president of Country Cascades Waterpark Resort.

The expansion is expected to create a variety of new hospitality jobs to Pigeon Forge.
