‘Curious George: Go West, Go Wild’ premieres on Peacock this month
September is Curious George’s birthday month, which is celebrated each year as “Curiosity Month.” To mark the curious occasion, NBCUniversal’s new streaming service, Peacock, is premiering the all-new movie, “Curious George: Go West, Go Wild” on Sept. 8, 2020.
In the Peacock Original animated movie, everyone’s favorite inquisitive monkey is ready for fun when he and The Man with the Yellow Hat travel to cousin Ginny’s farm for the weekend. As usual, their plans take an unpredictable turn when George accidentally “helps” Ginny’s farm animals escape. Luckily, a friendly farmhand named Emmett has a plan, and the group sets out on an adventure fit for a curious cowboy as they track the herd through the countryside, camp outdoors, fish for their dinner, and even stumble into a ghost town.
The movie features a new score by Germaine Franco and original songs written by Michele Brourman and Amanda McBroom, including “The Other Side” by global recording artist Yuna, which is the first song performed by a female vocalist in the history of the Curious George films.
But that’s not the only thing Peacock has planned for the curious monkey’s birthday month. On Sept. 20, 2020, three more movies will be available on the Peacock streaming service, “Curious George,” “Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey!,” and “Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle.” On that same date, fans will be able to watch two seasonal TV specials: “Curious George: A Halloween Boo Fest” and “Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas.” Plus, seasons one through nine of the beloved series will be added to seasons 10 through 12 and select episodes from season 13, which debuted as Peacock Originals earlier this year.
“Curious George: Go West, Go Wild” will be available on Digital and DVD via Universal Pictures Home Entertainment in Winter 2020.
