Cypress Gardens breaks the trend and lowers prices

Bucking the trend of Orlando theme parks, Cypress Gardens has not only added more attractions, they’ve lowered their daily admission prices by $10.

You can visit the park for a day for $34.95. This include all of the rides, animals, botanical gardens, daily shows, concerts, special events and unlimited access to their water park (open seasonally). An even better deal is the 2008 Passport which includes unlimited admission in 2008 for $49.95. They’ve also lowered the parking prices by $3 per car.

In addition to more big-name concert dates (more than 50 in 2008), they’re also planning on adding new animal shows, a laser show, a magic show and musical reviews in 2008. They’re also going to be bringing back their Botanical Garden Cruise.

They’ve hired the former Ocala Hilton executive chef to help expand and improve their menu choices. That’s a good thing, as I found it hard to find anything to eat that wasn’t fried or fattening the last time I was there. He’ll also be putting on some cooking demonstrations.

From now through Christmas you can see millions of lights on display and a nightly tree lighting ceremony at their Old-Fashioned Christmas celebration. Other holiday activities include a kids Santa playground, a living nativity scene and other holiday themed shows.

I’m glad to see the new owners, Polk county local Land South Adventures, seem intent on growing the park. It’s worth the less than an hour drive from Orlando. Visit often to help keep this classic park going.

  1. wow… for less than the price of a day (or Fun Card) at Busch gardens or Sea World you could get a AP at Cypress Gardens…

Soo tempted to go, just to ride the Starliner.
