‘Encanto,’ Indiana Jones rides opening in 2027 at Animal Kingdom
Disney confirmed Indiana Jones and “Encanto” attractions will officially replace DinoLand, U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom.

After years of sharing blue sky possibilities, Disney officially announced DinoLand, U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be replaced by a Tropical Americas-themed land, complete with attractions based on Indiana Jones and “Encanto.” The area will debut in 2027, taking place in a fictional locale called Pueblo Esperanza, which means “village of hope.”

Dinosaur — the Jeep-like thrill ride at Animal Kingdom that debuted with the park in 1998 — will be rethemed to the world of Indiana Jones.

While Dinosaur shares the same ride system as Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland, this new attraction will tell a different story from that classic ride.
“Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” star Ke Huy Quan and Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced the ride to a room of thousands of Disney fans. Take a look:

A ride based on “Encanto” will take place inside the Madrigals’ Casita. Unlike the Indiana Jones ride, which will repurpose an existing attraction, the “Encanto” ride will be a completely new attraction.

“Inside the Casita, Antonio has just received his special gift — the ability to communicate with animals — and his room has transformed into a rainforest,” said Scott Trowbridge, portfolio executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering. “It’s time to go explore alongside him, and you never know what member of the family you might bump into…”
A scale model of the Tropical Americas area was displayed at D23 the morning following the announcements:
When will DinoLand close?
Portions of DinoLand, U.S.A. will close in phases, beginning in fall 2024.
