The collaboration between Walt Disney Animation Studios and the producers of the blockbuster Immersive Van Gogh will showcase the beloved music and iconic imagery from Disney’s catalog of animated films, from classics like “The Lion King,” “Peter Pan,” and “Pinocchio” to contemporary hits like “Encanto,” “Moana,” and “Frozen.”

“It’s a dream to bring the best of animated storytelling together with the top experts in the immersive art experience. said Walt Disney Animation Studios President and two-time Academy Award-winner for “Encanto” and “Zootopia,” Clark Spencer. We can’t wait for audiences around the world, of all ages, to experience the great moments from our legacy of feature films in this incredible way.”

The 60- to 90-minute indoor walkthrough experience is expected to represent two-thirds to three-quarters of all Disney animated films and will include more than 45 minutes in a 360-degree immersive gallery (longer than Immersive Van Gogh). Upon entering, guests will be given wristbands that activate various features during the experience, including never-before-seen interactive lobby elements that guests can enjoy before or after entering the gallery.

“Like so many of us, I have a life-long love of Disney films [and] the work lends itself brilliantly to the immersive experience,” said Lighthouse Immersive Founder Corey Ross. “Just imagine journeying through Zootopia with Judy Hopps, diving to the ocean floor with Ariel, flying on a magic carpet with Aladdin, and stepping into Casita with Mirabel and the family Madrigal. This is where the Disney Animation: Immersive Experience will take you.”

Disney Animation: Immersive Experience will debut at Lighthouse ArtSpace in Toronto in mid-December 2022 and then travel to Cleveland, Ohio; Nashville, Tenn.; Detroit, Mich.; Denver, Colo.; Boston, Mass.; San Antonio, Texas; Las Vegas, Nev.; Minneapolis, Minn.; and Columbus, Ohio during the first four months of 2023. Tokyo will be the experience’s first city outside North America.

The schedule of openings, on-sale dates for tickets, and prices will be announced at a future date. Click here for more information, or follow Disney Animation: Immersive Experience on Facebook and Instagram.
