Disney College Program returning to Walt Disney World this June

College students and recent grads, we’ve got great news: the Disney College Program will return to Walt Disney World this June!

This announcement comes as a result of the recent progress “made possible by rising vaccination rates and recently revised guidance around health and safety measures.” While there still is a ways to go before we return to “normal,” Disney will be opening more of its hotels this summer, sports and convention groups are coming back to the parks, and some guest-favorite offerings will be reintroduced.

Walt Disney World is inviting participants whose programs ended early or were suspended in 2020 to reapply for another chance to be a part of the College Program. But with the return of the program will be some changes to make applying a little easiser:

  • A simplified application process
  • A concierge team of recruiters you can interact with on social media
  • Year-long arrival dates
  • Temporarily modified eligibility requirements so many students can still apply, even if they’ve already graduated
  • Developing new ways for participants to build toward their future careers

As for Disney International Programs, Disney Culinary Program, and the Disney College Program at Disneyland Resort, those will return at some point later on. For now, the focus is on bringing the program back to Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney has stated that they’re “relaunching the Program in a thoughtful and responsible way, with the safety of our participants and our working cast always at the forefront of our planning, particularly as we consider a new approach to housing at the new, state-of-the-art Flamingo Crossings Village complex.”

Those who come back for the Program this summer will be the first to call this new housing complex home.

New health and safety measures will also be put in place to reduce risk of COVID-19 for participants. Among these will be a pre-arrival communication regarding enhanced safety measures, including updates that promote physical distancing, required face coverings in all common areas, and a new contactless, curbside move-in experience. Occupancy of housing units will also be modified, allowing for fully vaccinated participants the chance to live with other full vaccinated participants.

More details on the return of the Disney College Program will be shared in the coming days. To learn more, visit the Disney Programs website.
