Disney just revealed a new ‘Partners’ statue—here’s what’s different
Disney fans will soon have another opportunity to bring home one of the company’s most recognizable symbols. Disney Store has announced a new “Partners” figurine featuring Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, set for release on July 14. This new statue is more detailed than a previous release from ten years ago.

Releasing near the July 17th anniversary of the Disneyland Resort, this collectible is inspired by the iconic statue found in Disney parks around the world.
How does it compare to the older Disney Store statue?
The earlier Disney Store release, circa ten years ago, was a larger, bronze-look replica mounted on a substantial base. It remained available for many years and has become a popular collectible among Disney fans.
The new 2026 release instead seems to match the $99 figurine that debuted at Walt Disney World Resort in late June. Both feature the same copper-toned finish, compact display size, and engraved base inspired by the iconic “Partners” statue found in Disney parks.

The park version may be available at Box Office Gifts near the exit of Town Square Theater at Magic Kingdom and we are keeping an eye out for other locations.
The story behind the “Partners” statue
The original “Partners” statue debuted at Disneyland on Nov. 18, 1993, celebrating Mickey Mouse’s 65th birthday. Created by Disney Legend Blaine Gibson, the bronze sculpture depicts Walt Disney holding Mickey Mouse’s hand while gesturing toward the park they built together.

Gibson spent nearly a year perfecting Walt’s facial expression, intending to capture the moment he watched guests enjoying Disneyland. Hidden details throughout the sculpture also pay tribute to Walt’s life, including the “STR” initials on his tie for Smoke Tree Ranch in Palm Springs and a Claddagh ring modeled after the one he wore.
Today, versions of the “Partners” statue can be found in Disney parks around the world, including Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Disney has also carefully preserved the original Disneyland statue. In 2020, conservators completed a multi-day restoration that removed decades of oxidation before applying a new protective patina and wax coating to ensure the beloved icon remains in excellent condition.
The new Disney Store release gives fans a way to display one of Disney’s most recognizable symbols—one that continues to remind guests that, as Walt famously said, “It was all started by a mouse.”
