DisneyBand+ is coming to Disney Cruise Line
In addition to celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Disney Cruise Line has announced that MagicBand+ technology will soon make its way to the high seas with the debut of DisneyBand+.
Beginning with a preview during select Disney Wish sailings before it officially debuts, DisneyBand+ will allow Disney cruise passengers to take advantage of the benefits of wearable technology for the first time, including unlocking their stateroom door, linking photos taken onboard by Disney photographers, and making purchases, all with the tap of the wrist.
Kida can even use their bands to access kids’ clubs, including Disney’s Oceaneer Club onboard and Scuttle’s Cove at Castaway Cay.
But that’s not all.
Rechargeable DisneyBand+ wearables (available in three exclusive Disney Cruise Line designs) also allow passengers to discover “enchanting surprises” and “extra moments of magic” throughout their cruise – and because it’s “adventure-proof,” passengers can wear it in the pool, at Castaway Cay, or on the AquaMouse.
What to Know about DisneyBand+
- Disney Cruise Line passengers who have a Walt Disney World or Disneyland MagicBand+ will be able to use it as a DisneyBand+ during their Disney cruise, starting with the Disney Wish preview.
- DisneyBand+ can be used at Walt Disney World and Disneyland
- DisneyBand+ is an optional add-on and is not included in cruise fares. The price is $34.99 plus tax for solid bands and $44.99 plus tax for themed designs.
- Once DisneyBand+ debuts, passengers can order bands between 11 and 45 days before their sail date with a fully-paid reservation (while supplies last). Passengers who order before they embark save $10 off the onboard price of each band.
Additional information will be available soon about the first Disney Wish sailings to preview the wearable technology this summer. When it launches, DisneyBand+ will only be available onboard the Disney Wish; the wearables will roll out on select ships and itineraries across the Disney Cruise Line at a later date.
