Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort reveals expansion and enhancements to The Villas

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is getting a 50th Anniversary Celebration make-over, with a 200-room Disney Vacation Club expansion and luxurious enhancement at The Villas.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members who call the Grand Floridian Resort their home away from home have even more Victorian splendor in store, starting in summer 2022.

An expansion to The Villas will add approximately 200 studio rooms, an accommodation category unique to the Grand Floridian. Each room will feature two queen-size beds and a day bed, sleeping up to five guests.

Existing deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and three-bedroom grand villas will also undergo enhancements in the lead-up to the summer 2022 date.

Deluxe studios sleep up to five guests, in a queen-size bed, a queen-size pull-down bed that tucks away into the wall, and a pull-down bunk-size bed suitable for children.

Large one- or two-bedroom villas add even more grandeur, with full kitchens, a spacious living area, and luxury amenities including modern appliances, a farmhouse sink, and a washer and dryer.

These categories feature a king-size bed, plus a pull-down queen-size bed and a pull-down bunk-size bed that is hidden beneath the living area’s media center.

Families and extended families will have the luxury of space in a three-bedroom grand villa, which sleeps up to 12 guests. The master suite boasts a kind-size bed, while each of the two bedrooms feature two queen-size beds. A generous living room and dining area enhances the homey feel.

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in Victorian-themed silhouettes add to this category’s charm, as do artworks featuring Mary Poppins and Dumbo.

The Villas also benefit from a lagoon-side location that is just a short monorail, boat, or bus ride away from Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park, or guests can stroll along the waterside promenade that leads to the park.

In honor of Walt Disney World’s 50 Anniversary Celebration, all guests and DVC members staying onsite can begin each day of memory-making with the “early entry” perk, which allows exclusive access to any of the four Disney theme parks, starting 30-minutes prior to regular park opening.
