Dr. Phillips Center announces ‘Shopkins Live!’ show based on children’s toy brand
The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, in collaboration with Moose Toys and Koba Entertainment, is bringing one of the most popular toy brands to life with “Shopkins Live!”
The first-ever theatrical production based upon the toy brand is set to tour the U.S., and is planning to arrive in style in the Walt Disney Theater on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1 p.m. The cross-country tour was announced on April 18 by Nicole Hardiman, Senior Licensing Manager at Moose Toys, and Giles Paquin, CEO and President of Koba Entertainment.
“Shopkins Live!” is a new theatrical production based upon the international toy sensation from Australia, and features the Shoppies and Shopkins characters in a brand-new story.
With original music and video highlights, fan-favorites “Bubbeisha,” “Jessicake” and “Peppa-Mint” prepare for Shopville’s annual “Funtastic Food and Fashion Fair.” Through this new production, guests will be able to join in on all the fun!
“Shopkins is literally on every child’s wish list,” said Paquin, who also serves as executive producer of “Shopkins Live!” “Koba Entertainment’s partnership with an innovative and leading toy manufacturer like Moose Toys allows us to bring one of the most successful toy brands in history to life on stage.”
The show will also have a stop in Lakeland, Fla. at the RP Funding Center on Oct. 10, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
“Shopkins Live” will run as a 90 minute stage show, with a 15-minute intermission. Tickets are $30, and go on sale on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. They are available for purchase in person at the Dr. Phillips Center Box Office, by calling 844-513-2014, or online at drphillipscenter.org.
