Dreams come true for boy who wished to meet John Ratzenberger at Disneyland
Sharing a frozen treat with actor John Ratzenberger at Disney California Adventure’s Pixar Pier was 12-year-old Spencer’s greatest wish. On Jan. 28, Make-A-Wish and the Disneyland Resort made that wish come true.

When Spencer was asked why he wanted to meet John Ratzenberger, he said “He’s my hero. He’s funny and he sounds like such a nice guy. He’s in every Pixar movie and I love that. I feel happy when I watch him.”

When Spencer visited Disneyland Resort with his family from Maryland, he brought a gift for Ratzenberger — a journal filled with drawings and photos. He also brought one of his favorite plush toys, the yeti from Disney and Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.,” who is voiced by the actor.

Spencer was thrilled that Make-A-Wish was able to make his dream come true. “I just can’t believe it,” he said. “I sure did enjoy being with him, and he called me a friend. Being his friend is so nice, and it made my heart shine brighter than ever. I can’t believe it was actually him!”
In 2019, Disneyland Resort made over 700 wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. To learn more about the work that Make-A-Wish does, click here.

This is a heart warming story! I love that Spencer said John was his hero. Thanks to Make-A-Wish, Disney and mostly John Ratzenberger for making this boy so happy! 😘
Thank you John for making this wish come true for my brother, you are one of the nicest people I have ever met. Thank you so much.
