This music-to-light spectacular features thousands of LED lights atop the Empire State Building, all in sync with “Christmas in New York” and “Last Christmas” from “A Very Backstreet Christmas.” The light choreography was created by world-renowned lighting designer Marc Brickman and his team at Tactical Manoeuvre.
“There’s no place like New York City during the holidays and we are excited to once again partner with the Empire State Building on this annual music-to-light-show tradition,” said Tom Poleman, chief programming officer for iHeartMedia. “This year, The Backstreet Boys gave us the perfect songs to help everyone get in the holiday spirit. Their very first Christmas album ‘A Very Backstreet Christmas’ is fantastic, and we can’t wait to share their music synced to the holiday lights of the Empire State Building with New York and the world.”
To kick off the event, which began on Dec. 19, 2022, and will run nightly at 7 p.m. EST through Dec. 25, 2022, The Backstreet Boys – Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, and Howie Doroough – visited the Empire State Building to flip on the switch for a lighting ceremony.
“The Empire State Building holiday music-to-light show partnership with iHeartMedia is an annual tradition that spreads joy to New York City and throughout the world,” said Anthony E. Malkin, chairman, president, and CEO of Empire State Realty Trust. “This year’s festive edition unites Empire State Building and Backstreet Boys fans worldwide for a one-of-a-kind celebration.”
You can catch the Empire State Building holiday spectacular live until Christmas night in person or via the Empire State Building’s Live EarthCam. The show can also be found on iHeartRadio’s Z100, 106.7 Lite FM, and 103.5 KTU.

Would love to leave a comment of love and support for Nick and the rest of those affected by these recent events. The man does not deserve this. He has healed and so should she.
