We had thought that Epcot Forever had fired its last firework shell, but much like the Main Street Electrical Parade, it returns again. Harmonious, the current firework spectacular, will be removed, alongside its large firework barges.
Harmonious is a spectacular firework show with a strong message, but it had one major flaw, the firework barges. These obtrusive barges sat in the center of World Showcase Lagoon at all times. Unlikes the Illuminations: Reflections of Earth barges that were moved into place daily, these massive structures were stuck in place. This caused complaints about obstructing the iconic skyline of World Showcase. Harmonious, as strong of a show as it was, was unable to beat the complaints from its 24/7 equipment sitting in view.
Epcot Forever will return Apr. 3 of this year, alongside the updated version of Happily Ever After. Disney is currently working on a new firework spectacular for Epcot, which debuts later this year. We also aren’t sure which version of Epcot Forever returns, as the show has had changes during its lifetime.
