‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ looking for volunteers at Kennedy Space Center pep rally

Surrounded by the rockets in the garden at Kennedy Space Center, here’s your chance to learn the inside story about America’s favorite “feel good” ABC television show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and help build a home for a deserving Brevard County family.

An Extreme Makeover: Home Edition pep rally will be held at 7 p.m. next Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Attendees will meet Milan Vasic, senior producer of the show. Milan will introduce a video presentation of some of the highlights and secrets filmed over the past eight years. Guests are being told to bring their tissues as producers promise guests will get emotional as they experience some of the most heart-warming and touching families in the U.S.A.

Milan will also introduce some of the talented designers and artists who work around the clock, making the home go up in just seven days. Guests will also have a chance to meet the team with LifeStyle Homes. They’ll introduce the key folks on their team who are going to build this house for the recipient family. Volunteers will also be given more information on helping with the upcoming build.

This will be the first “extreme” home building experience for LifeStyle Homes. “We’re honored Extreme Makeover: Home Edition asked us to participate,” said Jake Luhn, CEO of LifeStyle Homes. “We know the Space Coast community’s support will be overwhelming.” This will be the seventeenth home built during the show’s eighth season and the show will air later in the year.

Those attending are asked to bring blankets or collapsing chairs, as seating is limited and the Rocket Garden is an outdoor venue. A website has been set up at extrememakeoverspacecoast.com for more information and a list of needed supplies.

  1. To whom this may concern,
I have a dear friend, Laurie Floyd, who has volunteered by taking care of many animals and by helping others get on their feet. She wants to tell Tye Pettington how much she admires the work that he does and she would love to have a job like his. Although she is very ill, she has a heart of gold and loves to do so much for others. She is now in need herself of many repairs on her home and needs safety features in her home to be safe and comfotable. If you have any resources regarding a possibilty for her to receive help, please contact me at [email protected] You can also leave a message at (916)-422-3214. She would very much appreciate a hand up. Thank you for your attention in this matter. Debra Riese
