Sneak peek inside Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea

As Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea nears its June 6, 2024, grand opening, Disney shared new details, artwork, and footage from inside the expansion inspired by “Peter Pan,” “Tangled,” and “Frozen.”

Newly-released footage from Disney shows the three realms within Fantasy Springs — Peter Pan’s Never Land, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Frozen Kingdom — seem to be nearly complete.

Fantasy Springs Attractions

Disney also released new concept art for all four previously-announced Fantasy Springs attractions, plus photos of one of them.

On the six-minute Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, riders will don 3D glasses for a rescue mission to save John Darling from Captain Hook.

The ride system for Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure remains unclear, but appears to contain elements of either The Simpsons Ride or The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man from Universal parks.

Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies will be a two-minute, indoor/outdoor ride through the four seasons of the year. Winter, spring, summer, and fall were each the subject of their own Disney Fairies movie.

Disney shared a look at some of the ride’s details from its queue, summer scene, and entrance sign.

Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival will tell the story of “Tangled” in a five-minute gondola boat ride. The attraction will culminate in the “I See the Light” musical sequence, taking place during the film’s lantern-release moment.

Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey may be a 6.5-minute boat ride within the world of “Frozen,” but it will be different from Frozen Ever After, the “Frozen” boat ride already open in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot and World of Frozen Hong Kong Disneyland.

Tokyo’s “Frozen” attraction will dig deeper into the events of the film than the previous rides. For example, Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey will feature the song “Love Is An Open Door” and the moment in which Anna freezes, both new for a “Frozen” attraction. Could we see some high-tech Imagineering when Anna freezes, a la Beast’s transformation next door at Tokyo Disneyland Park?

Fantasy Springs Dining

Each story world within Fantasy Springs will host counter-service food and beverage options.

Guests will be able to dine within Queen Anna’s palace at Royal Banquet of Arendelle. The restaurant will feature a pre-set meal called Arendelle’s Royal Set.

Oaken’s OK Foods will serve snacks, like Oaken’s Yoo-hoo Bread: cardamom bread with spiced meat and lingonberry jam.

The Snuggly Duckling will bring the ruffians’ tavern from “Tangled” to life with a menu that includes Duckling’s Dream Cheeseburger and a lemon/strawberry-flavored Sweet Ever After Dessert (served in a frying pan, of course).

At Lookout Cookout, visitors will eat inside the Lost Kids’ hideaway on Never Land. Among the specialty menu items will be Lost Kids’ Snack Box (chicken tenders, seaweed fritters, banana chips, and shrimp chips) and the kiwi-flavored Pixie Dust Soda.

Outdoors, a popcorn wagon will serve roast beef-flavored popcorn.

Fantasy Springs Merchandise

Fantasy Springs Gifts, located inside Fantasy Springs Hotel but accessible from the park itself, will be the land’s anchor souvenir shop. Springs Treasures, an outdoor cart, will also sell a selection of merchandise.

Guests will be able to purchase specialty merchandise for all four attractions, as well as Fantasy Springs at large: pencils, towels, folder, a music box, artwork, and more. Apparel is noticeably absent among the merchandise photos Disney released.

Fantasy Springs Entryway

Guests will enter Fantasy Springs through a passageway made of rock, within which Imagineers sculpted likenesses of Peter Pan, Elsa, Anna, and Rapunzel.

The Fantasy Springs backstory tells the tale of a spirit who traveled to magical locales where Disney stories took place and recreated them upon returning to her home by a spring. Guests will encounter this spring (shown in the concept art below).

The concept artwork also reveals landscaped elements depicting characters who aren’t otherwise featured in Fantasy Springs, like Cinderella and the Evil Queen’s Magic Mirror.

Fantasy Springs Hotel

Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel will open June 6, 2024, the same day as Fantasy Springs and its attractions.
