Festival of Chocolate in Tampa gives a taste of what’s to come in Orlando

By Anthony Armenia

The Festival of Chocolate was held at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa this past weekend. It is the largest chocolate themed event in the southeast. The event will be in Orlando from April 27 through 29 at the UCF Arena. We were there yesterday to check it all out.

The event features an exhibit showcasing the history of chocolate and how it is made. Guests were handed a trivia sheet and if they completed it by going through the exhibit, they got a chocolate scented pencil.

In the vendor showcase area, guests had the opportunity to sample the area’s best chocolate creations. From cake pops to homemade ice cream, there was a large variety of chocolate goodies.

Paul Joachim of Art Edibles made a live cake sculpture over the three-day event. It was a life-sized sculpture and his model was there the whole time he carved her out of cake and chocolate.

On the festival stage, former Orlando Attractions Magazine – The Show host Mark Daniels gave away candy and held various activities to entertain guests each day.
