First-ever adaptive Disney Halloween costumes now available online
shopDisney released new adaptive Disney Halloween costumes for kids with special needs on Aug. 10, according to ABC News.
By Kayleen Padron
The new costumes consist of stretchier fabric that’s easier to change into. There’s also longer lengths of pants for wheelchair-friendly wear. Front flaps on the costume can help with tube access, and have a self-stick fabric closure.
Add-on accessories for wheelchairs have been introduced, like Cinderella’s carriage (talking mice not included!). The covers fit most wheelchairs and have plastic piping and self-stick fabric strips to keep all the pieces in place.
Disney Halloween costumes and accessories that are currently available include the Cinderella’s Coach Wheelchair cover set, the Incredimobile Wheelchair cover set, the Cinderella adaptive costume, a Buzz Lightyear adaptive costume and an Incredibles adaptive costume.
All options can be found on shopDisney.com, and will be available at the Disney Parks in the future.
