First look at plans for the new Cotino Disney residential community in California
Disney Signature Experiences has shared plans for the first “chapter” of Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney residential community in California’s Coachella Valley.

The Cotino Storyliving by Disney community will feature more than 300 homes developed by Walt Disney Imagineering – one-third for homebuyers aged 55+ – with designs inspired by the history and landscape of the greater Palm Springs area.
“We’re thoughtfully and intentionally bringing elements to the community to encourage camaraderie among neighbors while also using our renowned Disney placemaking to weave the essence and beauty of the Coachella Valley into the fabric of the community,” said Claire Bilby, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Signature Experiences Emerging Businesses. “Alongside the developer and builders, we’re creating a special place where residents will have a distinctive lifestyle that can only be found in the Cotino community.”

Three Home Collections
Cotino will offer three detached single-family home collections: The Cottage Collection, built on home sites approximately 50 feet wide; the Grand Collection, on sites about 60 and 70 feet wide; and the Estate Collection, on sites about 90, 120, and 135 feet wide.
An area dedicated to homebuyers aged 55+ will be called Longtable Park Residences, a name inspired by Walt Disney and the experiences that drew him to the Coachella Valley. Disney said, “When Walt visited the area, he often enjoyed desert activities in the morning and joined his neighbors for a group breakfast and good conversation around a friendly table.”

The initial development phase will be on the northwest corner of the community, bordering Gerald Ford Drive and Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage. Throughout this first phase of development, a selection of home sites will be made available to potential homebuyers at varying intervals. Pre-sales appointments to discuss floorplans, home designs, and pricing are expected to begin later this year.
A Community Designed by Walt Disney Imagineering
The community will feature picturesque promenades with views of the artificial Cotino Bay (created with Crystal Lagoons technology) and the surrounding mountains. Residents will also enjoy a collection of neighborhood parks that reflect the area’s natural beauty (and Walt’s affection for it).

In the first phase, homebuyers in 55+ residences will have exclusive access to Longtable Park, a gathering place designed with a large centerpiece table surrounded by palo verde and olive trees. Longtable Park will also include barbecue grills, bocce ball courts, and shaded seating areas.

In addition, residents of all ages (and their four-legged friends) can gather at Laughing Place Ranch, an equestrian-themed dog park that celebrates Walt’s love for horses and features separate play areas for small and large pets.
Cotino Activities
There will be multiple ways residents can enjoy Cotino Bay. A voluntary Artisan Club membership will offer access to the waterfront clubhouse, exclusive beach areas, and recreational water activities. Guests can also access the water at Cotino Bay Beach by purchasing admission.

The community will feature a lively town center along the shores of Cotino Bay filled with shopping and dining. Homeowners and guests can also enjoy activities in the nearby city of Rancho Mirage and the surrounding areas, which offer cultural activities, hiking, tennis, and golf courses created by legendary designers.
