Madame Tussauds Blackpool has launched a new wax figure with a first —a specially-designed scent!
Joining the figure of YouTube gamer DanTDM is a a fragrance called Eau De Gamer, concocted by themed smell company AromaPrime to evoke the grass and earth in the game Minecraft — which DanTDM is known for playing.
“Our smell receptors are directly connected to the part of the brain which processes memories and emotions, so this aroma will make the experience of meeting DanTDM incredibly emotive and memorable for fans… even if they don’t realize it!” said Liam R. Findlay, themed scent consultant at AromaPrime.
These elements come through with a hint of a deodorant essence, inspired by “the traditional bedroom setting of YouTubers and gamers.” A marine freshness is also included to bring the color blue to guests’ minds, as it is often used in DanTDM’s branding. A final note of sweetness is used in the scent to appear to the star’s younger audience and draw guests toward the figure.
“It’s a lovely smell, and it really helps bring the room to life, creating a fantastic, immersive experience for every guest,” said Stuart Jarman, general manager.
Madame Tussauds Blackpool has recreated DanTDM’s home studio for the figure, complete with replica props, game music, screens with videos playing, and audio recordings from Dan himself.
