The family-friendly Flying School roller coaster at Legoland Florida is set to close for good. Its last day of operation will be on National Roller Coaster Day, Aug. 16, 2023.

The inverted, steel coaster is one of the few rides that was in the park back when it was known as Cypress Gardens. It was then known as Swamp Thing. The Flying School name fit better with Legoland’s Driving School ride. The ride is in the back of the park, near the entrance to the Legoland Florida Water Park.

Legoland hasn’t said what will replace it, except to say it’s closing to make way for “future awesomeness”.
