The former Sheraton Safari Hotel and Suites in Orlando recently completed a $25 million transformation centered around a new pool courtyard and new name, “Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort”.

The property features a new spa, new fitness center and new ballroom along with completely refurbished guest rooms and family accommodations, restaurants, event facilities and common areas.

The new family accommodations feature separate bedrooms and bunk beds. Standard guestrooms feature sleeper beds, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, 42″ HD flat screen televisions and business services.

New guestrooms and facilities surround the new 27 Palms Pool Club which features two large pools. The Falls is complete with a waterfall and 79-foot water slide. The Beach is a zero entry pool with in-water umbrellas and jets. Along with 27 Palms Grill, a new grill aside the pool, and The Zest, the hotels signature restaurant and lounge, Springboard Marketplace is a new market and cafe located in the lobby serving paninis, wraps and Starbucks coffee.

The resort offers approximately 20,000 square feet of event spaces including two ballrooms and several indoor and outdoor spaces offering venues for small business meetings, receptions and Orlandocorporate events.

25 million to strip the safari theming and make it a generic resort. My kids including myself will miss the awesome themed python pool slide. No generic resort for us – moving on.
