Global Village multicultural theme park has just broken the Guinness World Record for “Most nationalities on a theme park ride,” with 73 guests from 73 countries making one circuit on the park’s Wheel of the World.
On April 10, Global Village in Dubai lived up to its core values as a multicultural destination for family entertainment by bringing together 73 guests from 73 nations in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record as part of their Silver Jubilee celebration. The record for “Most nationalities on a theme park ride,” was previously held by Sweden, and Global Village beat that record by one.
Arabian Radio Network partnered with the park’s campaign, putting the word out to Dubai listeners who came from multi-national families. To ensure the safety of those involved, only family members living together in each household were invited to participate. The response was overwhelming.
The iconic Wheel of the World giant wheel is a sky-high beacon for diversity and cultural inclusion, and a reflection of the park’s commitment to bringing together cultures from across the globe, and it made the ideal ride vehicle for setting the new record. Participants were treated to spectacular views as they made a single rotation on board the Wheel.
Those who took part in the record-breaking occasion were gifted with a souvenir Silver Ticket commemorating the event, and will also receive an Guinness World Record participation certificate that announces to the world that they are “officially amazing!”
Global Village, with its 40 pavilions, shows, and attractions representing 26 countries and continents, has set its sights on earning 25 Guinness World Records to celebrate its Silver Jubilee this year. The park has already achieved 22 records on the way to that goal.
