Gaylord Palms Resort is gearing up for the fall season with their annual Goblins & Giggles Getaway Weekends, returning on Sept. 13.
The event, running through Nov. 3, will invite guests of all ages to pack their costumes and swimsuits for fun inside the resort’s atrium and outside at Cypress Springs Water Park alongside special visitors from Spooksville.
New for this year, guests can enjoy “Adventure Kids: A Spooky Celebration.” This new, interactive show will feature Gaylord Palms’ characters Seth the Sea Turtle, Ava the Alligator and Adventure Kid leader Sophie as they explore and learn about Florida’s creepier flora and fauna.
This year’s event will see the return of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, who is the star of the Halloween Hide & Seek scavenger hunt. Guests who find all the hidden Spookleys will win a prize!
Younger guests can gather for a special Storytime with Morgana, where they can hear the story of Spookley from his best-selling children’s book with a message of anti-bullying. Grimm the Goblin will join in after the story for fun and games.
Another new addition for this year is Ice-Scream! with Grimm and Morgana, where guests can mingle with Spookville’s witch and goblin at Honeybells Frozen Yogurt – where they can also get their hands on a spooky sundae.
The Monster Mash Bash and Costume Contest will also return, inviting guests of all ages to dance with resident spooks Vladimir the vampire and Morgana. Grimm the Goblin will also join in to teach dance moves and songs to guests before the costume contest.
Halloween fun will keep on going for overnight guests at Cypress Springs Water Park with the Wicked Awesome Pool Party. Vladimir will entertain poolside with games and other activities, and the resort’s FlowRider – The Wake Zone will be featured in the Wicked Waves Surf Show.
Guests can try their best to escape a fearsome sea captain in The Pirate’s Treasure Escape Room as they join Emerald, the wife of Captain Hornswoggle, in ransacking the captain’s quarters.
Spooky Animal Encounters will connect guests with some unique creatures in close-up meet and greets. On Saturdays during the event, animal experts will introduce snakes, vultures and other critters to guests as they debunk myths about them.
The resort’s Trick or Treat Expedition will have guests exploring the winding paths of the 4.5-acre atrium to find sweets on Saturdays. For guests looking for a spooky meal, they’ll find seasonally-themed food and drink offerings throughout the resort’s dining locations, including MOOR, Wreckers Sports Bar and Villa de Flora.
Goblins & Giggles Getaway Weekend activities are offered Friday-Sunday from Sept. 13 – Nov. 3, 2019. To learn more, or to book a getaway for yourself, visit GaylordPalms.com/Getaways.
