The Golden Girls Kitchen opens in L.A. and announces four city tour

Thousands of television shows come and go, but some have an extraordinary staying power no matter how much time passes since its last episode aired. Such is the case of “The Golden Girls.” This classic sitcom, centered around four women living their golden years, seems to have never left the airwaves due to its overwhelming popularity. Therefore, tributes to the show continue to come in all different ways. One of the latest is The Golden Girls Kitchen, a fully immersive restaurant experience paying homage to the TV classic.

The pop-up restaurant is officially opening on July 30, 2022, which fans of the show know as “Golden Girls Day,” in Beverly Hills, California. This unique experience is a collaboration between Bucket Listers and Derek Berry, who brought us other iconic dining experiences including Saved by the Max, Good Burger, and The Peach Pit.

“Bucket Listers is incredibly proud to open The Golden Girls Kitchen in the heart of Beverly Hills, our largest original production to date. We couldn’t be more excited to launch four more locations coming soon to fans across the country,” said Bucket Listers Founder & CEO Andy Lederman.

The four other locations Lederman speaks of include New York, Miami, San Francisco, and Chicago. These four locations are scheduled to open later this year and into 2023.

The Golden Girls Kitchen is a fast-casual restaurant with an emphasis on desserts. Every ticket purchased includes your seat reservation as well as a guaranteed time to dine. Your order comes with a choice of entrée and, of course, cheesecake. Some dishes include Sophia’s Lasagna Al Forno (with a meat or vegan option), The Lanai: A “Miami Style” Cuban Sandwich, Blanche’s Georgia Style Cookie, and the Bacon Lettuce Potato Sandwich. These dishes have been created by Executive Chef Royce Burke of Secret Lasagna and Dino’s Famous Chicken.

Among your dining tables are iconic photo locations for fans to “enter” the world of Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia. Recreated locations include the kitchen table, the lanai, an iconic palm print, and Blanche’s bedroom. For those looking for souvenirs, the restaurant will also offer brand-new Golden Girls merchandise.
