Grand opening of Super Nintendo World postponed at Universal Studios Japan

It seems that fans will have to wait a little longer to visit the Mushroom Kingdom, as Universal Studios Japan has postponed the grand opening of Super Nintendo World set for Feb. 4.

Due to the state of emergency for Osaka prefecture that was issued yesterday, the resort has decided to temporarily postpone the grand opening of the immersive new land. Also during the state of emergency, additional capacity limitations will be set in accordance with the government and local authorities’ guidelines.

No new grand opening date has been announced for Super Nintendo World, though Universal Studios Japan says that they will announce the new date after the state of emergency lifts.

As of the time of writing, the state of emergency for Osaka prefecture is set to run until Feb. 7.
