Grandma McFlurry with purse candy coming to McDonald’s
McDonald’s will launch the Grandma McFlurry — featuring crushed-up candy, just like grandma carries — on May 21, 2024 for a limited time.

What’s in the Grandma McFlurry?
The Grandma McFlurry is made from:
- Vanilla soft serve
- Chopped, crunchy candy pieces (like grandma carries in her purse)
- Syrup

Grandmas are “Influencing Culture,” McDonald’s Exec Says
“Grandmas have always held a special place in our hearts,” said Tariq Hassan, chief marketing and customer experience officer at McDonald’s, “and today they’re having a major moment influencing culture — inspiring trends in fashion, decor, and now, even food with our newest McFlurry. The Grandma McFlurry tastes like a trip down memory lane, and we’re excited to give our fans that experience while honoring the grandma-figure in all our lives.”

Following the item’s launch at participating stores on May 21, 2024, the Grandma McFlurry will only be available “while supplies lasts,” according to McDonald’s.
Grandma’s McFlurry Mobile
This past weekend, McDonald’s surprised New Yorkers with Grandma’s McFlurry Mobile, a pop-up photo-op and food truck. Patrons got to try the new treat ahead of its official release.
Our friend Reuben (@wibblywobblylegowego) stumbled upon the pop-up and shared these photos with us.

“How Sweet It Is”
As part of the debut of the Grandma McFlurry, McDonald’s will donate to the organization Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly.

Additionally, the restaurant partnered with two musicians to record covers of classic songs: “Piel Canela” by Jay Wheeler is available now (listen below) and “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” by Remi Wolf will debut May 21, 2024 (hear a sneak preview in the commercial at the bottom of this story).
Restaurant patrons pairing their McFlurry with a Happy Meal will receive an item from the latest Happy Meal toy line, which celebrates “Captain America: Brave New World” (yes, almost a year before the movie debuts!).
