Hogwarts named most beautiful fictional world of all time
A new study analyzed “the visual allure of the most mesmerizing fictional worlds” and determined that Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the Harry Potter books and movies is the most beautiful fictional world of all time.
Researchers from CSGO Luck awarded each world a score out of 100 based on the average monthly Google searches (including the world name paired with the terms “wallpaper,” “stills,” and “aesthetic”), the number of times they feature in Instagram hashtags, and the number of Pinterest posts.
“The study not only unveils the most enchanting fictional settings of our time but also offers a deeper understanding of what draws people into these worlds,” notes a CSGO Luck spokesperson. “Each world, from the mystical corridors of Hogwarts to the rugged lands of Skyrim […] allows us to experience great adventures […] and imagine possibilities beyond the constraints of reality, continuing to captivate and inspire new and existing fans alike.”
Five Most Beautiful Fictional Worlds of All Time
Topping the list with an impressive score of 97.83, the magical world of Hogwarts Castle attracts an average of 3,129 Google searches per month and inspires 8,504,357 Instagram posts.
The realm of Skyrim from the Elder Scrolls saga comes in second with an index score of 86.5 out of 100. Despite being edged out by Hogwarts for the top spot, Skyrim’s breathtaking vistas earned more monthly Google searches than the wizarding world (3,835), plus 1,931,112 hashtags on Instagram.
With a score of 66.8, the whimsical world of Wonderland attracts 4,865,162 Instagram posts and a monthly Google search volume of 644.
Gotham City was named the fourth most beautiful fictional world of all time with a score of 61.4. Batman’s hometown attracts 966 monthly searches and 1,103,608 Instagram posts, highlighting its place in pop culture despite its dark and moody atmosphere.
Rounding out the top five most beautiful fictional worlds is Narnia, which has a score of 54.4. This world from C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia series earned 1,042,326 Instagram posts and 700 monthly Google searches.
