Hong Kong Disneyland to open Castle of Magical Dreams this month
Starting Nov. 21, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a major magical milestone – the opening of the reimagined castle, the Castle of Magical Dreams.
Inspired by 13 Disney Princesses and Queens, this castle features many towers and spires with iconic patterns, textures, colors, and ornamentation unique to each story.
As part of the castle’s transformation, the resort invited guests, cast members, community partners and Disney friends—including Mickey Mouse—to share their own dreams and wishes on “magical dream cards.” These cards were then collected in a treasure chest and lifted to the top of the tallest tower in the castle, symbolizing the rebirth of the castle through the power of everyone’s dreams.
This is the first time in Disney history that an existing castle has gone through such a major reimagining. To commemorate this, guests can visit “Building a Dream: The Magic Behind a Disney Castle” exhibition and go behind-the-magic to learn Walt Disney imagineering’s process of reimagining the castle from concept and design to what exists today.
Starting the same day, the “Glimpse into the Magic” tour of the castle will be available to guests. This tour will take guests through the castle while guided by an audio narration from local celebrity Karena Lam.
In addition, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland, guests can get a limited edition 15th anniversary-themed button at the park’s entrance while supplies last.
