How to check ‘good-to-go’ days as a Walt Disney World annual passholder
The first “good-to-go” days are now live on Walt Disney World’s calendar, indicating dates when annual passholders don’t need reservations to visit a Disney theme park.
What Are Good-to-Go Days?
Effective today, Jan. 11, 2024, Walt Disney World annual passholders will have access to good-to-go days. On these select dates, passholders can visit any theme park at any time without a reservation.
For dates not designated as good-to-go, Disney’s previous policy still stands that passholders can visit after 2 p.m. without a reservation. This applies to any park, on any day — except for Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays.
Where to Find Good-to-Go Annual Passholder Days
Walt Disney World annual passholders can see which dates are good-to-go days on the annual passholder admissions calendar or on the My Disney Experience app.
Differing from the language used in its initial announcement, here Disney refers to good-to-go days as “‘reservation not required’ dates.”
Annual passholder admission calendar — Keep this link bookmarked! Select the type of pass you have and the park you’d like to visit. The calendar will then display one of these results on each date:
- Green circle around the date: It’s a good-to-go day! No reservation required.
- No green circle around the date, but green dot under the date: Reservations are required and available.
- No green circle around the date and gray hazard symbol under the date: Reservations are required, but are all gone.
- Gray slash through the date: Your pass is blocked out.
You can also select an option to view a list of all good-to-go days for your pass type.
My Disney Experience — You can use the My Disney Experience app as a starting point to check for good-to-go days; however, the app ultimately opens an outbound link in your Internet browser to the same admission calendar mentioned above.
If you’re on the go and haven’t bookmarked the page, open My Disney Experience, tap the “+” symbol at the bottom center of the home screen, and select “Make or Modify Park Reservations.” Scroll down to the section labeled “View Current Availability” and tap “Annual Passes.” This will open the annual passholder admission calendar in a separate Internet browser window on your device.
When Will Disney Release More Good-to-Go Days?
Disney will continue to release good-to-go days for annual passholders sporadically on the platforms listed above. Sometimes Disney will add dates a few weeks in advance, other times only a few days prior. There does not appear to be a consistent schedule for these date drops.
Blockout Dates Still Apply
Walt Disney World sells several types of annual passes, and most of them have blockout dates. These include the Disney Sorcerer Pass, the Disney Pirate Pass, and the Disney Pixie Dust Pass. The Disney Incredi-Pass is the only type of annual pass with no blockout dates.
Keep in mind that good-to-go days do not cancel out blockout dates. If a day is listed as good-to-go, but your pass type is blocked out that day, you’re still blocked from entering the park.
When Do I Need a Reservation as a WDW AP?
The debut of good-to-go days does not eliminate park reservations altogether for annual passholders. If you’re a passholder, and it’s not a good-to-go day, you still need a reservation if you’re visiting:
- Magic Kingdom before 2 p.m. on a weekday
- Magic Kingdom anytime on a Saturday or Sunday
- Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom before 2 p.m. any day
Do I Need a Park Reservation if I’m Not a WDW AP?
Not a passholder? For you, the era of park reservations has come to an end.
Effective Jan. 9, 2024, guests who have purchased a date-based ticket (Disney’s standard ticket option) can visit any park of their choosing without a reservation, on any day, at any time.
What About Park Hopping?
With the launch of good-to-go days, Disney also lifted time-based limitations for park hopping. Effective Jan. 9, 2024, after visiting your first theme park of the day, you can now visit a second (or third, or fourth) Walt Disney World theme park at any time. This applies to any ticket with the park-hopping amenity, whether it’s a date-based ticket or an annual pass.
On days not designated as good-to-go, passholders only need a reservation for the first park they visit.
The Road to Post-Pandemic Recovery
Disney first introduced park reservations upon reopening in July 2020, following the pandemic shutdowns several months prior. All guests — one-day visitors and annual passholders alike — required park reservations for the day of their visit, an extra step in the planning process after purchasing admission.
Later, Disney rolled out new caveats for park hopping.
These procedures (among others) were followed by the launch of Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ in October 2021, an app-based service to navigate a day in the parks and obtain Lightning Lanes, the new lingo for FastPasses. Since launch, Genie’s rules have changed multiple times.
Other nearby destinations, like Universal Orlando, remained reservation-less. Guests of any ticket type could (and still can) come and go as they please, as long as they possess valid park admission.
Disney announced the launch date of the good-to-go procedure last month, alongside a graphic that read, “Less planning, more fun!”
