Japanese Anime ‘Star Wars: Visions’ Short Films coming to Disney+

With the massive success of the “The Mandalorian” on Disney+, and with Disney’s quality-first business strategy, comes the next set of Star Wars offerings to Disney’s streaming service. “Star Wars: Visions” will be an anime style series of short films designed and directed by Japanese anime creators.

This new set of short films will celebrate the Star Wars Galaxy through a new lens of media we haven’t yet seen, anime. These short films will come out in 2021, but do not yet have an announced storyline or lead team of actors. The anthology collection will bring 10 fantastic visions from several of the leading Japanese anime studios, offering a fresh and diverse cultural perspective to Star Wars.
