Kennedy Space Center celebrates women who are making history
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida is celebrating Women’s History Month by hosting women who are making history now.

Throughout March, Kennedy Space Center is inviting Astronaut Scholarship Foundation scholars from across the country to share stories about their contributions to the space industry with guests.
In addition to opportunities to meet women working in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), Kennedy Space Center guests can also meet female astronauts at “Astronaut Encounter” and “Chat with an Astronaut events throughout the month, including veteran NASA astronauts Heidi Piper (March 3-7), Julie Payette (March 8-11), Wendy Lawrence (March 18-21), and Susan Kilrain (March 22-24).




Space Center Exhibits Featuring Women Include:
- Heroes and Legends – A new Trailblazers exhibit highlights female astronauts including Sally Ride, Ellen Ochoa, Kalpana Chawia, Mae Jemison, and Nicole Mann
- The Astronaut Hall of Fame – Inducted astronauts include Sally Ride, Kathryn Thornton, Susan Helms, Bonnie Dunbar, Eileen Collins, Shannon Lucid, Rhea Seddon, Janet Kavandi, Ellen Ochoa, and Sandra Magnus
- Space Shuttle Atlantis – See the shuttle that carried trailblazing female astronauts like Mary Cleave, Shannon Matilda Wells Lucid, Pamela Melroy, and others to space
