After a slight delay, Kings Island Camp Cedar has opened to guests in Mason, Ohio, less than one mile from Kings Island amusement park.
“We are thrilled to welcome guests to this very special, first-class, overnight, entertainment destination,” said Terrie Zajo, general manager of Camp Cedar. “People are traveling again and seeking out destinations where they can escape the grid, connect with loved ones and have fun. Camp Cedar offers all of that and so much more.”
The luxury outdoor accommodation offers 184 full-service RV spaces and 73 cottages available in five different configurations, with 100 additional cottages planned. Each cottage features private bedroom(s), lounge areas, a kitchen, full bathroom, warm interior finishes, various kitchen layouts with modern appliances, heating/AC, ample storage, a guest safe, Wi-Fi, and a porch with outdoor wood or propane fire pit. Camping must-haves include bathhouses, a laundry facility, fire pits, grills, and picnic tables.
At the heart of Camp Cedar is Hornbeam Lodge, the resort’s great room and welcome center. Here guests can dine at Ironwood Grill & Tap, the signature indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar, shop for souvenirs or pick up essentials at Coyote Creek Camp Store, or grab a coffee at The Dry Bean – Coffee and Gelato.
Those looking for outdoor fun will find it at Deerfield Springs, the family activity pool overseen by Ellis & Associate certified lifeguards, which features a zero-depth entry with geysers, play features, water basketball, and a 10,000-gallon waterfall backdrop. The adjacent adult-exclusive Kingfisher Landing offers grown-ups a place to sit back and relax, complete with a water-immersed sundeck. Both pools offer poolside service and private cabana rental for exclusive seating and accommodations.
Belize Street outdoor cantina offers casual, food truck-inspired fare from The Fresh Tortilla and Route 66, ice cream and sweet treats from Urban Cow and beverages at the Beach Box with live entertainment and music on select weekends.
Additional amenities at Camp Cedar include golf cart rental, walking trail, and a dog park; a children’s play structure, bocce ball and shuffleboard court are planned for later this summer. A complimentary shuttle is also available to take guests to and from Kings Island, with exclusive resort perks and packages available for those bundling the two destinations into one vacation.
