The Dowdy Pavilion near International Drive is re-opening at noon on Feb. 24 as Orlando’s largest indoor playground, Galaxy Fun Orlando.

“We’re just thrilled to see a quality, family entertainment center going in next door to the World Bowling Center, and couldn’t be happier with the owners of Galaxy Fun Orlando”, says Ron Dowdy.

Image 1Bruce Roudebush, the company’s CEO and his business partner, transformed the 48,000-square-foot former former ice rink into three gigantic indoor playgrounds that will have kids playing, climbing and exploring through over 100 ramps, mazes, tunnels, tubes, slides and bridges.

He explains, “Kids aged 4-12 (max 60 inches) will play, climb, hide, tag and discover as they explore their spectacular, multi-level playground! They can also have a blast playing soccer indoors, with our exciting, specially designed Brazilian street-soccer court!

“Separate from the bigger kids, children aged 1-3 play in their own magical playground, specially created for their size and abilities, where parents are welcome to join them. Our philosophy of a playground is completely new to the Orlando area.

There will be food and drinks served in the restaurant area, with free access to ultra high-speed Wi-Fi. Parents are invited to relax while the kids are playing, with comfortable seating available on a mezzanine level that provides views over the entire playground area. There will also be a themed arcade area.

The entrance fees are $9.99 for children 1-3 years old, limited to the Mini-rocket playground, and $19.99 for kids aged 4-12 years old with access to the Maxi-rocket playground and Galaxy Soccer field. Playtime is unlimited. Kids must be accompanied by an adult, and adults must be accompanied by children.

  1. There totally needs to be one of these for adults. I miss playgrounds. The slides and the mazes and climbing up and down stuff. There’s no where for adults to do this. I think it would keep adults active. I would spend hours at a place like that for adults.
