Las Vegas to kiss the year goodbye by blowing up 2020 live

On Dec. 31, Las Vegas enthusiasts can bid goodbye to the worst year ever online with a livestream countdown featuring a live DJ and epic sights, replacing the city’s usual New Year’s celebrations. Visitors to the livestream event can submit what they’re looking forward to the most in 2021 for a chance to win trips to the destination in the new year.

Las Vegas bids 2020 goodbye.

A 2020 sign will be lit up, then blown up; a fitting parting gift. Music and LED lights will usher in the new year alongside fireworks and streamers. The spectacular will run about 12-15 minutes.

“Although many visitors from around the country and the world will not be able to join us in person to turn the calendar, this virtual event will allow us to share our enthusiasm and excitement with Vegas fans near and far as we look toward a brighter 2021,” said president and CEO of the Las Vegas convention and visitors authority, Steve Hill.

This online New Year’s party is only a sample of what the strip has to offer this holiday season. You can learn more about holiday offerings happening in Las Vegas here.
