Lionsgate to host ‘A Night at the Movies! Live’ with ‘La La Land’

Lionsgate is inviting everyone at home to enjoy “A Night at the Movies! Live” with a special, free presentation of 2016’s “La La Land.”

This star-studded livestream will air today, May 1 at 9 p.m. Eastern, and will be hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis. The stream will benefit the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, which is dedicated to helping people who work in the motion picture industry and currently offering financial assistance to furloughed theater employees.

“La La Land” tells the story of Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) and Mia (Emma Stone) as they are drawn together by their common desire to pursue their own passions. As success builds for them, they’re faced with decisions that begin to threaten their relationship. Both will have to decide if they will follow their dreams, or pursue love instead.

Appearances during the livestream will also include a performance from Oscar-winning composer Josh Hurwitz, along with messages of support from Seth Rogen, Salma Hayek, Bill Pullman, Jaeden Martel, Kaitlyn Dever, Pamela Adlon, and the Oscar-winning director of “La La Land,” Damien Chazelle.
