Magic Kingdom photo update for June 30, 2008

I headed to the Magic Kingdom this morning for a couple of hours, before the summer heat really set in. Here are a few shots I snapped in the fairly crowded park:

A relatively new food cart (the tan one on the left) has emerged in Liberty Square serving cheese pizzas ($6.25), assorted chips ($1.50) and refreshments.

This new women’s Haunted Mansion shirt can be found for $26.95 on Madame Leota’s cart outside The Haunted Mansion’s exit.

I spotted these amusing Mickey Mouse ears atop this guy standing in front of It’s a Small World, though there’s really nothing small about them. Anyone know if these are homemade or if Disney sells them?

It’s always fun to play “Celebrity or No Celebrity” when you see a plaid Disney tour guide. So, do you see a celebrity in this photo or did this group simply pay for the private tour?

This saxophone quintet normally plays on Main Street USA as a quartet, but were entertaining guests today in the Snow White’s Scary Adventures queue, dressed in Fantasyland costumes.

Here’s the quintet from the front.

I never noticed this Disney’s Vacation Club sales booth (right) or circus train car photo opportunity (left) before. They’re located between Ariel’s Grotto and Pooh’s Playful Spot in Fantasyland.

Here’s a closer view of the circus train car photo op.

The doors leading outside of the Space Mountain exit (aka the Tomorrowland Arcade) were closed today, leaving only the side exit open, facing the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. The wait time for the popular attraction was 80+ minutes with a line reaching well outside the building’s entrance.

mk06300812.jpg
Even the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, normally a walk-on, had a lengthy line.

Finally, some sprucing up is happening in Frontierland behind construction walls.

That’s all for today!

  1. The DVC booth is a few months old…

The pizza cart used to be near the Hall of Presidents entrance.

and those walls have been around that area for maybe 6 months now.. some utility work going on I hear.

  2. The woman in the “Celebrity or No Celebrity” picture could be Denise Crosby (granddaughter of Bing, Tasha Yar on Star Trek: The Next Generation).
